Farrer Kane & Co are a creative communications agency that provides clients with straight-talking advice and clever execution.

Having created the original identity when the company was founded in 2013, to mark the agency’s 10th anniversary we worked alongside them to refresh their identity and website.

The decision to change their name from Farrer Kane to Farrer Kane & Co reflects their growth as a business, and the contribution the whole team makes to their success. The refreshed identity needed to honour what has stayed the same as well celebrating what is different.

To help them achieve this we created a digital first brand that represents two distinct aspects of the agency. The simplicity and clarity of the new assets references their offer of straight-talking advice and clever execution. This is paired with a more expressive side, featuring vibrant colours and energetic animations to highlight their growing diversity.

The new logo flexes and scales, adapting in size for digital formats.

A set of straight talking icons based on simple, geometric shapes were built for use in UI navigation and animation.

In the spirit of the new identity, the icons were free to play a dual role; being functional when required, or expressing themselves through pattern and animation.

Two typefaces were put into action to enable communications to flex in tone; a functional sans serif to perform the heavy lifting of everyday use, and a more expressive serif to create impact.

Social templates were designed and built in Canva to enable the Farrer Kane & Co team to create and manage their own bespoke social content.

“We’ve worked with Mark for over 10 years and he has led the brand development and design work for two iterations of our agency brand identity. His clear thinking and creativity bring a real clarity and impact to all the work he delivers. We also work alongside him on a whole range of client projects. He possesses that rare mix of a great design eye, good communication skills and excellent project management skills.”
